I recently had a fun bridal session with a pinup model.

All of these images were created with natural light at my studio on North Pacific. I created a space that is awash in yummy light. My secret? Diffused light of course. Could be a vortex of loveliness but I think it's the vinyl I put on the windows.

I have a collection of vintage cameras. I love this one that

Sophie is holding. It's a Polaroid called "The Swinger".

Baby portraits Santa Cruz

It's been a busy week and it's already half over. I think I have been on a

sugar rush since Easter. I've had so much energy and I've checked off a record # of to-dos in a 3 day period. Maybe Peeps are good for something!

Yesterday, I photographed Esme's 1 year

portrait session. It's hard to believe how much she has grow in such a small amount of time. I should have her Baby's First Year album done by next week. Check back soon!

Church wedding photos

About a quarter of the weddings I book have a church ceremony. Every church

has it's own set of rules regarding photography. Some are very lenient while others can

have flash regulations and boundaries the photographer is supposed to stay within.

Last year I took these images at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland. I

have never seen church with such exquisite light (aka "yummy" in photog speak).

If you are getting married in a church, make sure to find out the photography rules.

Also find out if your photographer knows how to shoot if there are no flash rules.

Mother & Daughter portraits

Last week the weather here in Santa Cruz was sooo perfect. Warm but not hot, blue skies and sunshine! It seems every where I went I saw mothers outdoors with their little ones. Baby's in back packs, riding tandem on mom's bike, in a stroller with a bonnet! It made me miss my kids when they were small. It made me remember our little adventures.

I had a really wonderful week! I went to WPPI in Las Vegas for the annual

Wedding & Portrait Photographers International convention. This was my 4th year in a row to attend. I decided to do something different and organized a photo shoot.

I totally lucked out and got 3 amazing models and an extremely talented Make Up & Hair Artist named JaNoel. The two above photos of Timea were taken in the hotel room at New York New York. I was able to play around with some new tools I picked up at the show. I'll post more images later so check back soon.

I have to thank my cousin Teri above for assisting at the shoot and bringing us some really cool vintage clothing and the fur coat.

Baby portraits Santa Cruz

Esme is already 9 months old! I can't believe it.

It must have been about a year ago when I photographed her mother's maternity

session in San Francisco.

I'm making a baby's 1st year album and have photographed Esme every 3 months since birth.

Just one session to go.

I love this wall in my new studio. The only light I used for most of these shots was from a window which I turned into a giant soft box. Frosted glass vinyl is amazing! I got this idea years ago when I was studying Mathew Brady and civil war daguerreotypes. Of course he used real, colored glass in the skylights of his studio.

I love this shot! Not technically a great shot but I love her expression. I took a similar one of my son 16 years ago. I hoped it would help me remember everything about my baby.

Santa Cruz Mountains Engagement Session

After a couple of attempts to photograph Alyssa and Brian's engagement session were foiled by the rain, we finally had a nice afternoon last Sunday. We started our session at the bride's family's cabin off of highway 9.

With so much moisture in the mountains there seems to be an abundance of moss and ferns and slugs. I think it's a good luck sign in the Ohlone culture when a Banana Slug crosses your path.

I love Converse couples!

After hiking in the mountains we ended our session at Natural Bridges State Beach.

Bonny Doon Cellar Door wedding

I recently photographed a beautiful wedding at a private residence in Larkin Valley. It was my first Sufi wedding! One thing I love about my job is learning about different cultures through celebrations. The bride was from Turkey and she had several family members who come from all over the world to attend. After the ceremony they pinned gold coins with a red ribbons on her dress. A Turkish tradition.

When they said their vows the Bride and Groom recited their favorite poems. I'll never forget trying to do my job and then hearing Shakespeare's most famous Sonnet 18 and getting all misty. It never sounded so beautiful as it did that day. You know the one, "Shall I compare thee to a summers day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate...", sniff, sniff.

The ceremony was followed by a sumptuous meal at the Bonny Doon Cellar Door.

BDCD has everything going for it. Amazing light, awesome wine list, helpful staff. Perfect for smaller gatherings.

What do you mean you're working?

I just read a really great article on BrideTide, a wedding blog. Sometimes I have family or friends call and ask what I'm doing. I usually always say working and sometimes they ask me to explain. I get the feeling that many people think a wedding photographers job only involves taking photos and editing them in Photoshop. I snagged these nifty pie charts from BrideTide and I hope you follow the link and read the whole blog entry.

The above chart explains what most people think a wedding photographer’s work week is like. The bottom chart is an example of what most PROFESSIONAL photographers do in a typical week. One thing all my colleagues and I have in common is that we wish our work days resembled the above chart. I would add a few more slices to my pie below which would include reading wedding blogs, learning opportunities and brainstorming with other wedding professionals. This is a HIGHLY competeitive business and quite honestly it's not very easy!

Cocoanut Grove Bridal Show 2010

The 2010 Cocoanut Grove Bridal show was spectacular! This is my favorite bridal show and the 4th year that I have participated. Every year it just seems to get better.

If you are looking for inspiration for your wedding or local vendors, this show offers tons of both. Brides from all over California flock to this seaside show every year. I guess that's why it's the largest bridal show on the Monterey Bay.

that Eventscapes created for the fashion show. They always seem to have fresh ideas and put a lot of work into transforming the Cocoanut Grove.

Napa Fundraiser

I was recently in Napa to photograph a golfer on horse back at Toyon Farm. On June 7, 2010, Cornerstone Assisted Riding & Equitherapy will be having a golf tournament to raise funds for their program. They provide therapeutic horseback riding lessons for hundreds of physically and cognitively challenged youth. This non profit relies solely on donations from the public.

The clouds resembled cotton puffs in the sky, so light and billowy. I love the reflection in the pond. I can't think of a more beautiful place to board a horse.

The above horse was so striking and sweet.

I'm always looking for an excuse to go to Napa and my friend Wendee who volunteers

at Cornerstone is always giving me the hookup whenever she can. She organized the shoot with me, her horse trainer Dan and her mustang Yogi. 20 years ago when we met I don't think either of us realized that we would be friends for so many years.

Santa Cruz Love Project

I've been wanting to do a Love themed fundraiser for a long time now. Being that I make a living off of photographing people in Love, it seems only appropriate and to have the fundraiser around Valentine's Day. Now that I have a new office and shooting space, I can finally make this happen.

On Saturday February 13, I will be taking headshots and Valentine's inspired portraits for a donation. All of the proceeds will go to Haiti & the Santa Cruz Red Cross. A 50/50 split because they are both very worthy causes. The lovely ladies at Alexis Party Rental are loaning me their cool photo wall and I'll have a few other backdrops to choose from. It will be really great to see how much money we can raise from a Love inspired fundraiser. I plan on doing this every year and giving to a different charity. If you or anyone you know needs a new profile photo, head shot or if you just want a new photo of you and your sweetie, please stop by! Pets are also welcome. All images will be emailed to the generous donor. No donation is too small or too large.

I'll even have my heart on the wall if you want a portrait like the one below.

My friend Liz has never turned me down for a little practice sess. I love working with her

because she watches shows like Project Runway and America's Next Top Model and knows how to bring it! She'll do anything to get the shot.

I have so many high hopes for the future! I'm starting the new year and decade filled with satisfaction and optimism. First of all, I'm opening a new office and studio in downtown Santa Cruz! Ever since I was a little girl watching Andy Griffith reruns, I dreamed of having a business downtown. Once again I am reminded that dreams do come true (so dream big!)! I know Santa Cruz has a reputation for being weird but honestly, it's a modern day Mayberry (Left Coast style) in every respect. I took the above photo last night from the roof top of my new office. For decades, 1000s of people gather at the town clock at midnight to ring in the new year. There were fireworks and everything this year. Have fun and prosper in 2010!!!

Harbor High School

I was recently asked to be a part of a career panel at Harbor High School.

I was one of three professionals who answered questions and gave career advice to

a group of very bright students. In the photo above, the students tried to match the profession with the professional. How could they get me and a police officer mixed up?

Obviously none of them has ever been arrested!

The police officer was a CSI, Crime Scene Investigator, who was extremely interesting and an all around bad *ss. The broadcaster was also inspiring and knowledgeable. I think everyone had fun and learned a lot, I know I did. I want to thank my friend and fellow photographer

Carmel Mission wedding

I recently helped my friend Mike Danen with a wedding at the Mission in Carmel. Even though we met in a workshop a couple of years ago, this was the first time we actually got to work together. Kim & Dan were super sweet! They had a military style wedding in the basilica.

The bride walked down the aisle with both parents.

I've never seen a soldier who wore a Stetson before. Granted I don't know much about

the Army but the Groom is in the Calvary. I was shocked to find that the calvary is still a part of the Army and no they don't ride horses anymore. They do still wear cowboy hats.

We finished the portrait session just in time to catch a few

photos at the cocktail hour at the Hyatt.

The fire pit near the golf course was a very cozy spot.

Bernardus and Highlands Inn wedding photos

Gorgeous weather in Carmel Valley for this rehearsal dinner at Bernardus.

Dozens of family and friends made their way to California to celebrate Karen & Sun's beautiful destination wedding in Carmel. Some guests came from as far away as Korea to help celebrate.

I think you can tell by these photos that this was one of the sweetest couples!

The wine was flowing and all the guests were smiling.

Shawn Cavlan Beauty Co. was on the scene to make sure the bride looked her very best.

The groom walking his gorgeous bride down the aisle was a special moment.

The view at the Highlands Inn was perfect.

Kelly Productions was in charge of the entertainment.

I love the way the ocean is reflected in the black mirror behind the wedding cake.

Lezlie with Grand Design did an amazing job with the flowers. She made stunning arrangements with succulents, orchids, hydrangeas and grasses.

The reception was held in the Pacific's Edge restaurant at the Highlands Inn.

The wedding was well planned by local event specialists at Allison Weddings.

Santa Cruz remembers earthquake 1989

On the 20th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake several festivities took place around town. As I walked down Pacific Ave I passed the above signs honoring some of the victims.

I attended the Downtown Santa Cruz Gala on top of the new Rittenhouse Building. A lot of rebuilding has taken place since the quake and this new building on the corner of Church and Pacific is definitely one of downtown's finest additions.

It's always a party when the Great Morgani is there.

Little Red Riding Hood.

know it wasn't the big bad wolf lurking in the woods...

I had a feeling we were being watched! Then, out of nowhere this Yeti came trekking through the woods like he owned the place. Absolutely no fear of humans.

I guess there is a reason there is a Big Foot Museum in nearby Felton.

Photographing babies is always a lot of fun, especially when

they are all giggles and dimples like this little sweetie.

Monterey Plaza Hotel wedding

Super fab couple Troy & Kasey were married recently at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. The intimate ceremony was held on the private patio in the Presidental Suite.

The suite was decorated with white daisies and vintage wedding cake toppers.

Morgan Hill wedding

Last weekend my friend and former marketing assistant got married to the love of her life! She asked me years ago that if and when she ever got married would I photograph her wedding. I knew this day would come and have looked forward to it ever since. I must say that the only thing better than watching a budding romance is going to the wedding and knowing that true love STILL happens:0)

No one got past these guest book attendants! I really need to blog about the signature albums I make. They are a huge conversation piece at the reception and make the coolest coffee table books. Some times I think my guest books are the deciding factor when a couple books with me. There were so many cute kids at the wedding. Check out the adorable brothers above!

Instead of cake, the couple exchanged chocolate covered strawberries. So sweet! I love the arrangement and the assortment. This was probably one of the greenest weddings I've photographed. From Katie's diamond down to the composting bin, this wedding was unique.

Ainsley House wedding

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Jeff & Hilary's wedding at the Historic Ainsley House in Campbell. The happy couple chose bright and vibrant colors, an array of orchids and served the best Cuban food I've had in the Silicon Valley.

There are several interesting buildings near Ainsley House.

Even the cupcakes were a smorgasbord of color.

Santa Cruz Wedding vendor mixer

I don't think I have enough fingers and toes to count all the wedding vendor mixers I've attended this year. I'm happy to say that they have all been a wonderful escape from my daily workload. I live for fancy food and drink and have met so many other hardworking wedding vendors at these events. Not to mention had the chance to mingle with people I work with every weekend but rarely get the chance to chat. Santa Cruz Wedding vendors recently hosted a mixer at The Dream Inn in Santa Cruz.

Bridal Show Monterey

Last Sunday I had a booth at the Monterey Bridal Show at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

It was a nice turn out for a Fall show. I was one of many wedding vendors hoping to meet brides getting married in Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach and Big Sur. In addition to a fashion show several vendors gave little workshops on wedding planning.

Pictured above is Heidi Hughett and her assistant Lia from Couture Celebrations.

There are many special times in a girl's life that should be documented and
wedding and pregnancy are two of my favorites to photograph. I remember
feeling excited and fulfilled when I hit both milestones myself. I only wish I looked
as gorgeous at 9 months pregnant as Brooke does in these photos.

Whenever I'm at a party and I tell someone that I'm a wedding photographer they usually
always ask if I have any Bridezilla stories. The answer is no. Never had one and
I don't think I ever will. A couple of weddings ago the groom was announcing to the guests at his wedding that his new wife was a "bridechilla". My ears perked up and I suddenly realized that this term described just about all my brides. I've noticed that the brides that book with me
all have one thing in common and that is they really just want to enjoy their wedding day. This reflection brings me to this couple. I have a feeling this bride might be the queen of the 'chillas.

This has been a really long week. On Sunday I photographed Maureen and Tony at Stanford.

It was really cool walking around campus and getting to know them.

I can't wait until their wedding in September. They're having their reception at the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose. I've been wanting to photograph a wedding there for awhile so booking this wedding was extra special for me.

I recently photographed a wedding at the the Berkeley Faculty Club. It was really fun to see the campus and all the landmarks. Berkeley has such a rich and fascinating history.

This tree had a really cool hole in the trunk which made for a really cool frame for the newlyweds.

My first Holman Ranch wedding! Actually it was just a reception since the couple was married earlier in the year in Yosemite. The weather couldn't have been more perfect as the couple arrived by horse carriage.

Holman Ranch Carmel Valley

Holman Ranch is in Carmel Valley. It's an old Hollywood hideout and has a long and fascinating history. In recent years the ranch has been purchased and run by a really nice family dedicated to honoring the integrity of the property. They recently opened several guest houses and now offer bed & breakfast options.

Esme's 3 month portrait session.

What a great week! Went to San Francisco for a luncheon and a portrait session. I got a ton of work done and learned new things. I got to see a lot of friends this week and had some fab food. The weather was perfect all week. Blue skies, sunshine. The sweetest thing this week would have to be holding a baby again. Sweet Esme is already 3 months old and soooo sweet and easy. I remembered how delicate it felt to hold a baby.

La Canada Wedding Carmel

Last Saturday I photographed a really fun wedding in Carmel Valley. I started by photographing the bridal party getting ready at the Inn at Spanish Bay at Pebble Beach. The maid of honor was the bride's twin sister. They looked so much alike I was happy they were wearing different dresses so I wouldn't embarrass myself by switching their names.

Engagement Session with motorcycle

When I first met with this couple and they told me where they were engaged, I knew we had to photograph their engagement session there. They mentioned hiking to a bluff in the Santa Cruz mountains where the view was spectacular.

I love the yellow wildflowers that blanketed the top off bluff.

Before ascending to the top of the mountain we had a fun photo session with motorcycle.

Now that's a pretty view. On a clear day you can see the ocean but as luck may have it, the fog blew in and obstructed the view to the west. The view to the East, on Eagle Rock, was well worth the hike.

Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery wedding

A couple of weeks ago, before my vacation, I photographed my first wedding at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery http://www.casarealevents.com/ I remember the day well as it was the hottest day of the year. It was so hot that the wedding started a little later than expected.

Despite the triple digit temperature, not one rose in this amazing arch wilted!

Elaine and Peter are all smiles after saying, "Ido".

Inside the Grand Salon the temperature was nice and cool. Once they dimmed the lights it

was easy to forget that is was a hot sunny day.

At this wedding I also had the pleasure to work for the first time with floral designer Nicole Ha http://www.nicoleha.com/ and DJ Matt from Fantasy Sound http://www.fantasysound.com/ Everyone at Casa Real was so friendly and full of energy. I had such a good time photographing this wedding that I had to remind myself I was working.

Last Saturday I photographed my first Renaissance wedding in Big Sur. The coolest thing about it was that it was totally a family affair. The bride grew up attending Renaissance Faires with her family and camping in Big Sur. Just about all of the guests dressed up as well which made this theme wedding so special.

New Oakland Church, Cathedral of Christ the Light

I recently photographed a wedding at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland. The church

just opened last year and I was curious if it lived up to it's name. Not too many new cathedrals popping up these days so my hopes were high. I was not disappointed. Oakland doesn't mess around!

A fish on the ceiling?

The whole roof is arched and made of glass and wood slats. The light filters in and is constantly changing. Most of these photos were taken with natural light only.

Nestldown Wedding Venue

Yesterday I went to Nestldown in the Santa Cruz mountains with a couple of my photographer friends. It was the first time we had been to Nestldown and it lived up to all the stories we've heard. They were having an open house for prospective clients.

The light is spectacular at Nestldown! Everywhere I turned I saw another photo op.

Santa Cruz Youth Leadership Awards Nominees 2009

This is the third year I've taken photos for this event sponsored by the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz. There were a few Middle School nominees this year. One of the boys below kept his eyes closed during the whole shoot except this one split second that I caught. He was hilarious and fumbling about, convinced the camera would steal his soul. Imagine a 12 year old WC Fields, a total character.

Model Invasion at Preston Castle

My friend Sam Hassas invited me to join a handful of other Northern California wedding photographers for a day of shooting at Preston Castle in Ione, CA. He said that there would be some models and outside of a workshop, I really haven't had an opportunity like this before. My friend Mike Danen and new friend Orbie Pullen all drove up with Sam. We were the only wedding photographers from Santa Cruz at the shoot.

The other wedding photographers were from Sacramento, Oakland, Visalia and San Jose.

I have so many other photos from the shoot that I want to share and will post them later. The coolest thing was that all of the wedding photographers that were with us were so talented and eager to share their knowledge. A very rare opportunity, I must say.

Wedding photography is such a specialized and competitive business and often people want to keep their skills to them selves. Passion should be shared.

The lovely lady on the left is Raquelle Siders, a super talented and energetic stylist based in Sacramento who serves all of Northern California. She brought the models, the dresses and made the most beautiful feather hair pieces and bouquets. She put so much time and effort into the shoot that I have to tell the world. Pema Osel Ling Wedding

Last Saturday I photographed my first wedding at Pema Osel Ling, the Buddhist Retreat in the Santa Cruz Mountains just east of Corralitos. I wasn't expecting all the sky lights and awesome window light that was awaiting me. The bride was getting ready in the main house
and the light was so flattering.

The groom decorated the dining room with colored lights, a stage and swathes of fabric hanging from the ceiling and rafters. I was so excited when I walked in. Someone who loves parties as much as I do! I was impressed that they drove all this stuff from L.A. where the couple lives.

There was no end to the coolness at this wedding. The bride's father was in the third band. Latin Affect based in Gilroy website. If you love to dance and appreciate awesome musicians you have to check out this band! So many of the guests were retro dressed for the occasion and every one ended up on the dance floor.

Santa Cruz Engagement Session

I had my first e-sess of the year yesterday. I was so happy when they agreed to end the session in downtown Santa Cruz, at night.

We started our session on the beach at Natural Bridges, Santa Cruz, California. The beach is usually swarming with people, photographers and tourists. The skies were cloudy all day so there was hardly anyone on the beach when we arrived.

Rebecca & Andrew, betrothed. 2 weeks until they are officially married.

I've had the above shot in my head for awhile. GXS assisted me on this shoot and did a great job holding reflectors and lights for me. Who needs a light stand when you have a 6'5" assistant who likes to climb? We are going to have so much fun this season.

Business Showcase

Thursday night at the Capitola Mall, nestled between Comcast and the Yellow Pages, Rebecca Stark Photography made tons of new friends and scheduled a few portrait sessions. This was the first time I had a booth displaying both my wedding and portrait photography. Liz and I handed out about 200 magnets and hundreds of Kisses. Hershey's, of course! Calistoga Wedding

This summer I photographed my first wedding at Hans Fahden Vineyards outside of Calistoga. Being a green thumbed person myself, I fell in love with the gardens that surrounded the estate. The gardens surround a beautiful duck pond. Just about every native California flower has been plated here. I definitely want to stop by in early spring and see the Tea House (pictured below) when the wisteria is in full bloom.Hans Fahden Vineyards website.

Got a call from my favorite organic produce company to do some promo shots for Whole Foods. No coincidence that my husband is a tomato salesman for the same company, Jacob Farms Del Cabo. They are major supplier of organic herbs and tomatoes to Whole Foods and Trader Joes. They also sell to many other stores including New Leaf Community Markets in Santa Cruz. JFDC is a very interesting company. Check out their website and don't forget to eat your organic veggies everyday.

It seems like I recently took a photo of my son and my husband that looked a lot like this. Only thing is that it was 15 years ago! Back in my previous life I was a farmer's wife. I even lived in a double wide for awhile! In fact, my first darkroom was in that trailer! Proof that you never know where your passions will take you.

Monterey Bridal Show

January is a busy month for all wedding vendors. For me, a lot of brides start planning their weddings and want to meet with me and see samples of my work. Also, there are tons of Bridal Shows in January. This year I am participating in 3 bridal shows. One last Sunday in Morgan Hill named the "Camelot Wedding Extravaganza", yesterday the Monterey Bridal Show, "A Day to Remember" and next Sunday, my favorite show at the Cocoanut Grove in Santa Cruz, "Bridal Expo 2009".

I wish I would have taken more photos but I was so busy talking with brides and other vendors. I was really surprised at how many people showed up for the show. Afterward, my assistant Liz and I met some other photographers for dinner and refreshments. Santa Cruz photographer Mike Danen, Carmel photographers Jane & Kevin Morba, Monterey photographers Mike Steelman, Jennifer Church & her lovely husband, Robert Ellis & family, also Glenn Mc Dowell from Salinas. (Shamelss SEO plug!) We all met at an English pub in downtown Monterey. We need to plan this every year because it's so fun to end an exhausting day with laughter and friendship.

Monterey Wedding

Last weekend I photographed my first wedding of the year at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. Being that it was January 3rd I knew I was starting the year right by photographing such a stylish couple the day after I got home from my vacation.

I have to check out the Bridal Galleria the next time I'm in San Francisco. I keep hearing my brides talk about this store in the Embarcadero and I now I know the name. Looking gorgeous! Isa's smile was so warm that we forgot it was freezing!

After 9 years of dating they are finally married!

They may have dated for 9 years but these newly weds have known eachother forever! Their parents played Mahjong with several other families since they were kids.
The stories were hilarious and everyone had a great time.

This cake is very deceiving. I never would have guessed the awesomeness that was hidden by all that white frosting. It was so amazing I had to get a detailed description. The cake was created by the baker at the hotel. It's called Hazlenut Crunch. Chiffon cake with Espresso Soak, dark chocolate ganoche layers inside with hazlenut praline mousse and white chocolate frosting. Imagine cake with candy in the center. Sweet tooth heaven.

My photographer friend Mike Danen invited me to come on a post wedding portrait session
with him in San Francisco. I'm always looking for a reason to go to the city and love when it involves my camera. There was also a landscape photographer with us who took us to Treasure Island at sunset. He was in San Francisco to photograph the unusually large full moon.

We started the session at the Legion of Honor.

I really like the above image. Soft focus and all.

It's not really breaking and entering when the doorman lets you in, right?

Portola Hotel & Spa

The Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey was the site for my last wedding in 2008. Every wedding has something that makes it unique and this wedding was no exception. Check out the Dean Martin impersonator above. He sounded exactly like Dino! It was so cool to have him there singing Amore and all those other classics. He got the reception off to a enthusiastic start.

It rained for most of the day. Good thing the hotel lobby has this nice park like setting indoors.

The Historic Del Monte

Last Sunday I photographed my second wedding at the Historic Del Monte in Sunnyvale. The bride really liked traditional portraits and wanted a photograph of her and her new husband with every guest. Luckily there were 2 photographers and I was able to get some fun, casual shots, too.

All of the light in the photograph above is being reflected off a huge mirror that the bride was facing. The perfect spot for a portrait.

Flood Mansion San Francisco

I recently went to a wedding industry networking event in San Francisco. We were expecting traffic but actually got there early and found parking right in front. I'm glad I brought my camera so we could entertain our selves before the event started. I love bamboo and orchid arrangements and have never thought of decorating the chairs, too.
In this photo my photographer friend Mike Danen is discussing power marketing strategies or exchanging parenting tips with The Only DJ. I'm glad I got the shot on the right of the view because 10 minutes later the fog blanketed the skyline.

Last Saturday I photographed another Carmel wedding. This time at a private residence over looking the Monterey Bay. The weather was spectacular! There were quite a few photographers in the wedding party and they were so much fun to photograph. Check out the slideshow.

The groom is the 4th from the left and he really wanted this jumping shot. They practiced a couple times and nailed it! Seriously, he was sooo excited to be getting married.

These are probably my favorite party images all season. I've made an effort this year to take better photos on the dance floor. This summer a very talented colleague schooled me on off camera flash and Pocket Wizards. Thank you Sam Hassas! Check out his blog and be amazed.
